Proton Density Imaging
A Proton Density - like a T1 or T2 - is not considered anything; it is what you make it. Most all PD's are run as fast (turbo) spin echo, but many sites run a true spin echo PD on knees to evaluate the meniscus. (It's a long sequence.)

Dynamic Imaging
Don't have a solid definition, but will give an example. Pituitary study: you can run a dynamic study by using a power injector set for a slow infusion rate of let's say 0.75ml/sec. The scanner is set to run a scan sequence through the PIT (25-35 seconds) and then repeat that sequence usually six times. The dynamic "uptake" and "falloff" of contrast in the PIT is evident.

Scan equation I don't get, HELP
Here's the question:
The approximate scan time of a rapid spin echo sequence with a TR of 3500ms, a TE of 90ms, a 256x256 matrix, 1 exicitation, a 220mm FOV and an echo train length of 5 is______ minutes.

Formal they give is 3500msx1x256/5=?
a.3
b. 8
c. 11
d. 15

I get 179200. What am I missing in my studies and the math?

Siemens TRIO sequences
Hi we have been using the standard siemens sequences for COW, and find them ok, as with the venogram sequences. What do you not like about the standard- theyre long, but 'id like to know why you don'tlike them, maybe we're missing somthing..

MRI Spinal Ligaments
I am a graduate student conducting research on spinal ligament mechanics. I am looking for a good imaging sequence to determine the geometry of the supraspinous ligament. I am working with cadaver specimens so patient motion and scan time is of little relevance. I am just looking to get the highest resolution possible so that I can render a 3d volume of the supraspinous ligament. I am using a GE Signa HDx 3T. Thanks.
