Single Volume Spectroscopy

(SVS) This method maps the metabolic information from the VOI in a spectrum. Single volume techniques are advantageous in case of pathological changes that cannot spatially be limited to a few VOI; by using local volume sensitive shim the local magnetic field inhomogeneity can be compensated.

Hybrid Spectroscopy

The combination of single volume spectroscopy and chemical shift imaging. The chemical shift measurement is performed over a selectively-excited volume of interest. Areas with strong distorting signal are not stimulated and therefore do not append signal to the spectra.

MAGNETOM ESSENZA

www.healthcare.siemens.com/magnetic-resonance-imaging/0-35-to-1-5t-mri-scanner/magnetom-essenza/ From Siemens Medical Systems;
Received FDA clearance in 2007.
The MAGNETOM Essenza is designed to combine high system performance with simple installation and power requirements to provide optimal operating costs for limited budgets. The standard system has up to 25 integrated coil elements and 8 independent radio frequency channels. Tim allows the combination of up to 4 different coils that reduce patient and coil repositioning.
The 1.5 Tesla system is designated for a complete range of clinical applications, including neurology, orthopedics, body imaging, angiography, cardiology, breast imaging, oncology and pediatric MRI.

Stimulated Echo Acquisition Mode

(STEAM) A single volume spectroscopy method. The stimulated echo acquisition mode techniques is similar to Point Resolved Spectroscopy (PRESS). The STEAM sequence use a 90°-90°-90° pulse sequence instead of 90°-180°-180° pulses.

The Signa SP 0.5T™ is an open MRI magnet that is designed for use in interventional radiology and intra-operative imaging. The vertical gap configuration increases patient positioning options, improves patient observation, and allows continuous access to the patient during imaging. The magnet enclosure also incorporates an intercom, patient observation video camera, laser patient alignment lights, and task lighting in the imaging volume.
