ACR BREAST IMAGING
RECENTLY FAILED ACR FOR BREAST IMAGING.
I AM LOOKING FOR A GE SITE FOR ADVICE.
WE HAVE A GE 1.5T HDXT SYSTEM USING 15 XM4 SOFTWARE. OUR COIL IS A GE LIBERTY 9000 8 CHANNEL COIL.
IF YOU HAVE PASSED THE ACR WITH THIS EQUIPMENT AND DO NOT MIND SHARING INFORMATION, WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU.
ACR REVIEWER REASONS FOR FAILING WAS GHOSTING, CHEMICAL SHIFT ARTIFACT, AND INHOMOGENOUS FAT SAT.
THANKS,
MIKE RT(R)(MR)

is this kind of zebra artifact?
Looks more like a Zipper artifact. Can be caused by electronic noise. Switch off all light bulbs, remove all electronic equipment from the scanner room, make sure that the door is really closed (clean the contacts between door and jam if necessary) and try again. If the artifact consists control the penetration panel where the cables enter the room and the faraday cage, it is possible that there is a leak in the RF shield. If the artifact remains with all coils and sequences you need the service to repair the problem.

Experiences with Artroscan C
Is there anyone who have experiences with the Artroscan C by Esaote. My hospital is seriously considering to purchase one or one similar to this model.
There is a flexible coil with this machine which might be used to image the hip the representative said. I have serious doubts how a small flex coil can image an adult hip.
If there is anyone who have experience with such a machine can you provide some feedback please regarding hip and shoulder imaging in particular.
best regards and happy easter to all those celebrating easter. regards David

I work on GE excite open speed. On lumbar spine t2 axials, it appears like the coil looses signal and makes image dark and grainy. The coil gives good signal on the other sequences and tests good when engineer has tested it. The sag t2 is bright like it should but ax is dark. Any ideas why?

MRI artifact
Hi. I have recently been experiencing an artifact on a STIR sequence (GE Signa HDxT 3.0T) using a HD CTL spine Coil. I'm am not fully understanding what could be happening here. One MRI technologist thought it was a corduroy artifact due to RF leak, but I'm not 100% sure there was RF leak, at least from the door, as it was closed completely.
