Phase encoding
Hello,
Could someone explain me simply the principle of phase encoding ? I don't understand the principle of applying higher gradient at each step.
Thanks !

is this kind of zebra artifact?
Always existed artifact made us crazy, is this a kind of zebra artifact or something? the line are in the phase encoding direction, really confusing.

Dixon technique
Dixon technique uses alternative water/fat phase-encoding strategies. The technique is generalized to phase encoding of theta radians, and the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) performance is evaluated. To get some more information regarding this please check out the following link : http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18777528

MRI terminology need clarification
Hi,

This is a very wonderful site and I have learned alot from your definition database. I do have a question with some of the terminologies that I cannot find in your database, here are the ones:

What is:

Alpha pulse?
Inversion Pulse?
z-gradient pulse?
positive x-gradient pulse?
negative x-gradient pulse?
phase encoding pulse?
Refocusing gradient pulse?

Can you please help me know what there terms meant?

Many Thanks!

MRV--Phase contrast question
What exactly is an MRV sequence on an Hitachi Airis II .3 Tesla?
I realize it has to do with the venus system but if anyone knows anything I sure would appreciate your time and knowledge concerning this.

Also The physician I am working under(Neurologist), he would like to see my MRAs done with a phase encoding protocall? Is there such a thing? I hope someone out there can give me some knowledgable info on this. Thank you Sheila/Georgia :)
